The Environment Centre in the Wilayat of Masirah, Governorate of Al Sharqiyah South, organised a campaign to clean coral reefs and remove abandoned fishing nets and marine debris. The initiative, carried out in cooperation with the Masirah Municipality and local volunteers, is part of broader efforts to protect the marine environment and preserve biodiversity. The campaign resulted in the removal of 3.8 tonnes of abandoned fishing nets, 300 kg of iron fish traps and a total of 4.1 tonnes of marine debris.
